Getting To and Around Breckenridge

Getting to Breckenridge, ColoradoBreckenridge is located in Summit Country, Colorado, which is the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Breckenridge is a year-round alpine playground. Located just 10 miles south of Interstate 70 (I-70) along scenic Colorado Highway 9, Breckenridge is easily accessible from both of the major airports that service Summit County and all of the major metro areas in Colorado.

There are two airports that service Breckenridge. Denver International Airport is located 95 miles from Breckenridge and Eagle/Vail Regional Airport is located in Gypsum, about 60 miles west on I-70.

Transportation from the airport to Breckenridge is fast and easy whether you decide to rent a car or take a shuttle service such as Colorado Mountain Express (CME).  Both DIA and Eagle/Vail airports offer rental vehicles through most major carriers and shuttle service from CME. The Grand Lodge on Peak 7 has an exclusive contract with Enterprise Rental Car to offer discounted rentals from both DIA and Eagle/Vail and can also arrange shuttle transfers with CME.

Once you are here, getting around is easy whether you have your own transportation or not. Breckenridge and Summit County have an easy, modern road system that is constantly maintained and improved by state and municipal transportation agencies with world class snow removal systems in place. If you don’t have your own transportation, don’t worry! Breckenridge and Summit Country offer convenient and free public transportation services that can take you to any corner of Breckenridge and Summit County.
